Aviary Series
The Aviary works combine bird-figures with cages and symbolic objects, reminiscent of fairy-tale and fantasy and probing ideas of habitat, boundaries, freedom, and constraint. Presented together in an installation such as Aviary: Votives and Voices, birdcage pieces along with free-flying birds are accompanied by the sounds of the Paris bird market—both birdsong and human voices.
